Stacy+Ashley slideshow!!!

I got a really nice note from Stacy and Ashley. Thank you guys!

"Thanks for the preview of the slideshow. The photos look great. It seems you've done a great job of creating the theme that we were looking for - a creative wedding portrait, capturing all the detail of the wedding that is easily forgotten. We're looking forward to seeing the rest!
Also, after coming back from our honeymoon yesterday we've learnt that you guys were a real hit down here. All the family think you did a really great job and were very professional. So we hope you liked Trinidad because we suspect ours won't be the last wedding you're asked to photograph in the coming years!"

Turn on your speakers and enjoy!!

Katerina+Oleg

When: June 24, 2007
Where: Venetian Yacht Club, Babylon, NY
Creative portraits: Battery Park City, New York City
Weather: Gorgeous!!!

I didn't see Katerina without a smile all day long and I had to ASK the guys not to smile in this shot.

The most patient bridal party. They had to run, jump and bake in the sun while I was shooting the couple.

Apparently you are not supposed to shoot in the marina without a permit (mental check to myself) but a very generous boat owner and good samaritan invited us on board surprising the park security and us. Thank you, the boat owner!

Maria rocked the house with killer cake shots. The cake cutting ceremony was the most entertaining I ever saw.

Maria was checking the settings for the Katerina and Oleg grand entrance when I surprised her with a jump.

Blog from Trinidad: Stacy+Ashley

Maria and I got to Trinidad after a loooong trip in the hands of American Airlines, a missing pilot (really, the man just didn’t show up for the job), a lost connection flight and 7 hours of wait in rainy Miami. But…

We were welcomed in this Caribbean Island by a warm family of Australians: Ashley’s parents and siblings made us feel part of the whole event by immediately inviting us to join the family meals and Champaign surprise toasts as the last wedding details were being sorted of.

The big day came around under a moody sky. Ashley kept glancing at the dark clouds, as Stacy was getting ready in a gorgeous apartment on the sea. But, sure enough, just as the bride entered the church, the skies decided to clear up, letting the sun brighten generously the ceremony, and our pictures. I wanted the portraits of the couple to show a “Trinidadian” flair, so I had the driver stop along the road between the church and the venue to include local backgrounds: the colors, the sea, the boats. Ashley is a very attractive man: an Australian Hugh Grant as they referred to him during the toasts, and Stacy is just an incredibly beautiful, elegant, and exotic looking woman. They were both willing to have fun with the portraits, and we certainly did. At the reception the Trinidadian part of the family posed a really tough competition to the Australian warmth…might be an islander trait? We were asked at least 10 times by different relatives if we had an opportunity to eat! We certainly hope that they are as happy with the pictures as we are with their kindness. These are people you work for with the heart in your hands…and in your camera. Thank you all Islanders!!! And thanks especially to Ashley and Stacy for choosing us to shoot your wedding, we loved it all!!!!

P.S. Maria contributed heavily to the above writing:-)

Louise+Boo

When: June 9, 2007
Where: The Crooked Lake House, Averill Park, New York

That was a long drive but it was worth it. I never met the couple but when Louise walked in she lightened the room with her bright smile and laugh. The ceremony was very simple but the party was crazy!! Maria and I had fun covering the wedding. Thank you guys!!
